Sundarbans –Queen of Nature

Dhaka-Khulna-Sundarban-Khulna-Dhaka (6 Nights 7 Days)

 

Day 01:  Arrival

Arrive Dhaka airport and be received by our representative and transfer to designated hotel. Freshen up and (if time permits) we will provide a half day city tour. Stay overnight at hotel.

 

Day 02: Dhaka –Khulna (200 km, 7 hrs drive approx. including ferry transfer)

Having early breakfast, drive to Khulna. In the evening reach Khulna and transfer to designated hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 03: Khulna –Sundarban

Early morning board the reserved ship and cruise through the rivers Mirgamari, Harintana, Shella, etc. The cruise will start at 6-7 am depending on the tides. During this long journey, you will be passing through the various forest islands and of course you can expect to zoom your camera to various wildlife including deer, rhesus monkeys, colorful birds especially the great white herons, bald eagles and white or giant crocodiles sunning themselves on the shore. You may also find the Gangetic dolphins playing in the river water dive. Overnight on board.

 

Day 04: Sundarban

Early morning enjoy a boat ride through small streams and canals. Explore Jamtala Island, famous for the Royal Bengal Tiger and various wild animals and birds. Take a walk to the beach Badamtala. This will be a great experience to follow the Tigers on the track. Return to the boat and sail for Kachikhali Island, which is very famous for habitat and especially the Tiger domain. An adventurous walk in the forest and as well as in the wide grass lands, where one can easily observe the great herds of deer and wild boar. Overnight on board.

 

Day 05: Sundarban –Khulna

Morning enjoy cruise through Kachikhali Khal to watch colorful birds. Back to the boat and sail for return towards Khulna in a different way, evergreen forested islands that are not the same, as long as you visited. Upon arrival in Khulna, disembark the boat and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 06: Khulna –Bagerhat –Dhaka (230 km, 8 hrs drive approx.)

After breakfast, start drives for Dhaka via Bagerhat. On the way, we stop in Bagerhat and visit sixty domed mosque, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The other side of the road is another small mosque, in the traditional brick style. A few miles down the street, is a holy shrine of Saint Khan Jahan Ali (Rah). Then drive continues to Dhaka. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and overnight stay Dhaka.

 

Day 07: Departure 

After breakfast free at your own and transfer to airport for onward destination.

NOTE: 1. Sundarban tour depends on tide schedule of river. We can’t say exact time to reach the spots.

2. Due to high humidity, Sundarban tour is good for winter season (Sep-Mar). You can visit Sundarban round the year except bad weather.

3. Smoking is strictly prohibited in cabin of the boat.

4. Littering is strictly prohibited in the river, shore and tourist spots.

5. Making noise, annoying animal, injure plants are not allowed.

6. Things to Carry with: Torch, Towel, Umbrella, Raincoat, Binoculars, Suitable Clothes, Camera & Memory Card, Battery Charger, Mosquito Repellent, Sun Screen Lotion, Walking Shoes & Sandals, Sun Glasses, Hat, Swimming Gear, Reading Material.

7. There are different capacity boats for Sundarban tour; maximum are non-AC, only 3-4 has air-conditioned facility. A few boat details are given below:

 

M.B. Alorkol (non-AC): It has 4 cabins; 1 double bedded and 3 twin bedded which are bunk styles. There are 2 bathrooms; 1 has Western style and other has Indian style toilet facility. [No web-site available]

 

M.B. Gangchil (non-AC): It has 5 bunk style cabins where 10 people can accommodate. There are 2 bathrooms; 1 has Western style and other has Indian style toilet facility. [No web-site available]

 

M.L. Bawali (AC): There are 6 cabins with bunk style. Maximum 12 people can accommodate. No attached bath, 5 common washroom where 3 Western & 2 Indian style toilet facility. [No web-site available]

 

M.V. Machranga (non-AC):  It has 10 cabins for guests; 1 four bedded, 2 single bedded, 3 couple bedded & 4 twin bedded which are bunk styles. Maximum 20 people can accommodate. There are 3 common bathrooms where 2 Western & 1 Indian style toilet facility. [No web-site available]

M.V. Kokilmoni (non-AC): It has 14 cabins (12 twin & 2 four bedded); all are bunk styles. This is a non-AC boat but dining lounge is air-conditioned. There are 4 common baths for guests; 02 Indian and 04 Western type toilets with shower. M.V. Mahirah (AC): It has 20 cabins; 2 couple bedded with attached bath, 17 twin bedded & 1 single bedded without attached bath. All are lower berth. There are 8 common bathrooms with Western style toilet. Maximum 39 people can accommodate. This ship operates only from Dhaka. [www.mahirah.com]

 

M.V. Flamingo (AC): It has 21 cabins of various type: 10 super deluxe double bedded cabins with attach bath, 9 smaller deluxe cabins which has 2 bunk beds at each room and 2 four bedded family cabins. Smaller deluxe & family cabins have no attached bath. Vessel is protected by CCTV cameras besides on board armed security personnel.
